Golfing
The island’s golf course is a 9-hole course but offers alternate tees, adding distance and variety to each hole and making it overall a challenging 18-hole course. The natural hazards of the course call for additional skills and, at certain times, the wind factor can test even the most competent of golfers!
The course is one of the most scenic golf courses in the Channel Islands where you play amidst unspoilt countryside, surrounded by golden sandy beaches, and Victorian fortresses. Take in the stunning views of the nearby French coast on the 3rd and 4th holes, the 2nd and 6th tees and the 1st green. And, as you approach the 7th, 8th and 9th tees, you have an unbeatable view across the English Channel.
Green fees are the lowest in the Channel Islands: £30 for 18 holes, and £20 for 9 holes. Braye Beach Hotel guests will receive a 20% discount on top of this. You can hire clubs (£10) and trollies (£2) at the clubhouse.
Unless there is a championship or tournament taking place it is usually possible to walk on and play without having to pre-book a tee-time. For visiting groups of 4 or more players however, it is best to call the Steward to make arrangements and to ensure that there is no clash with the club’s local fixtures.
