The Braye Beach Hotel is the only place in Alderney, outside of the registry office and churches that is licensed to hold marriages. A recent change in local law has meant that people can get married in the island within six days of arriving as opposed to the original sixteen days. This review of timings allows for people to be resident in the island for three days prior to giving notice for a special licence and also includes one day which must elapse before the wedding ceremony.
