Winter is back in the Channel Islands.

Date: 21 January 2013

After daffodils started to blossom at the beginning of January at Fermain Valley in Guernsey, we all thought that was the end of this winter season, but we couldn’t be more wrong. The Bailiwick was covered in a blanket of snow on Friday.

Guernsey, Alderney, Herm and Sark residents woke up to a dusting of snow, that covered the whole of the British Isles over past couple of days. According to Visit Guernsey, the last significant snowfall in Guernsey was in 2009, when eight inches of snow fell overnight. It was the highest snowfall the Channel Islands had seen in 20 years.
